Jack is an award winning documentary filmmaker specializing in scientific and humanitarian expeditions and environmental conservation. Drawing from a background in renewable energy and geographic information science, his work is powered by his desire to understand the complex systems that define our world.
He has traveled and filmed in remote areas in over 55 countries. His work has taken him from to the taiga of eastern Russia, the Middle East, the central and east African bush, the Mongolian steppe, the upper Amazon, the Andes, the Alps, the Himalayas and many of North America’s mountains, forests, deserts and tundras.
In addition to filmmaking, he offers expedition planning and logistics consulting.
His favorite personal trip was a solo overland journey from Marrakech, Morocco to Seoul, South Korea, inspired by Paul Theroux’s 1975 classic travelogue The Great Railway Bazaar. At home, Jack enjoys backcountry skiing, hunting, flying hot air balloons, growing orchids, and seeing Grateful Dead and bluegrass shows.
Jack is a member of The Explorer’s Club, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Member of the Scientific Exploration Society. He has a BA in Geography from University of Colorado, Boulder and MA in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Oregon. He is based in the Rocky Mountains, USA.
